Double 7th festival [七夕 = TANABATA in Japanese] , also known as star festival is based on the legend of two stars, Altair and Vega, that are in love but separated by galaxy.

They can meet each other only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh month. Therefore people have celebrated the reunion of lovers, watching on the stars.

Thinking on the galaxy, lightyear and cosmos...SARA YOGA offers 1st workshop @ Van Abbemuseum ; «Double 7th Rituals with Yoga and Koto Music» .

The idea is to enhance our sensitivity to perceptions of time, space and rhythm by practicing Yoga and Meditation.

The program is designed by physical postures (Asanas), breathing exercises (Pranayama) and Meditation in poses (Yin Yoga) with live music of koto, a traditional Japanese Zither.

The pieces by Koto are based on Japanese traditional music but also composed to lead the breathing patterns, to enhance sensitivity to the time.

It is designed for everybody to discover the stillness and to reach deep reserve of own sensibility.

Things You Need :

• Your Own Mat or bath towel

• A Mat Towel

• Comfortable, Breathable Clothing

• A Good Water Bottle

• Own layers if you need

7月７日「七夕」。織女と牽牛の伝説に思いを馳せながら、天の川、牽牛星、織女星を眺める日。

サラヨーガ第１回目のワークシヨップは、美術館という非日常的な空間で、夏の暑さを元気に迎えるために、体内に涼しさを取り入れる呼吸法とヨガを行います。

自分の呼吸と箏の調べに心身をゆだねながら、自分の内的宇宙と向かい合i位、穏やかで優しいひと時を過ごしましょう。
